Smart watch will not connect to the phone
The cause is almost always a Bluetooth profile left over from an old pairing. It must be deleted on both sides, not just one.
A watch that worked yesterday and will not connect today is rarely broken. Usually an old pairing record is left behind.
Delete the pairing on BOTH sides
This is the step most people skip. Deleting only on the phone is not enough — the watch also keeps a record and tries to return to it.
On the phone: Settings → Bluetooth → next to the watch → Forget this device.
On the watch: Settings → Bluetooth or Connection → delete the phone.
Then restart both and pair again.
Check the app
Samsung watches need Galaxy Wearable, Huawei ones need Huawei Health, Apple Watch works only with an iPhone. If the app is updated but the watch is not — or the other way round — the connection can refuse. Update both.
An important limitation
Apple Watch does not work with an Android phone. There is no setting that changes this. If you bought an Apple Watch and use Android, the watch will not connect — that is not a defect.
When it is the battery
A watch with a drained battery sometimes powers on and shows the time, but has no power left for the Bluetooth transmitter and the connection drops within seconds. Charge it fully and try again before concluding it is faulty.
